Minnesota Halloween Dirt Cake
Creepy, crawly, and sinisterly sweet! This spooky dirt cake is sure to please your toughest critics (aka, your kids)!
Dirt cake has always been a Midwest staple for potlucks and family gatherings alike, and this Halloween we’re making a spooky version! It’s still the same classic recipe of a silky pudding mixture with a layer or two of crushed Oreo cookies to strike the perfect balance of crunchy and creamy.
For this recipe, we opted for chocolate pudding to make it extra dirty but feel free to use vanilla if that’s your favorite flavor. Then to top it off, we used leftover cookies and a little icing to make dirt cake monsters to really set the scene. And no dirt cake would be complete without a handful of gummy worms and candy corn pumpkins!
